Fertilizing / Weed Control:

Regular, planned fertilizer applications essential for strong turf.  Here at Pure Precision Lawn Care we use only commercial, golf course grade products.  You will never see us using box store fertilizers.  Like any other product, there are different levels of quality, we use only the best for our customers.  ​​


We are fully licensed by the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development to administer weed control.  When choosing a contractor, you should ask the contractor for their license.  This is a protection for you that your contractor is trained, educated, and insured when it comes to pesticide applications.

     MOWING/TRIMMING:

Regular mowing is essential to turf health.  Two common misconceptions are damaging to your turfs health.  The first, "Mow it short so I don't have to mow for a while," causes weak roots, promotes weed growth, and hinders the turfs ability to store necessary nutrients. The second, "Don't mow it until it gets too long".  This thought process results in a substantial amount of growth to be cut off at one time.  This creates an abundance of thatch, shocks the grass, and can invite disease.  


Proper mowing should utilize the following practices that we implement here at Pure Precision Lawn Care:

  • Sharp Blades on the mower.
  • Cut off no more than 1/3 of the grass height per mowing.
  • Mow at 3.5 - 4 inches during the heat of the summer.
  • Don't mow in the same direction every time you cut.
  • Cut weekly.​​

SPRING / FALL CLEAN UP:

Each spring we service our customer's lawns with our power-brooms. Where most companies and homeowners use some version of a tine            de-thatcher, we use a superior piece of equipment for superior results! These unique tools are highly efficient at removing thatch, winter debris, stones, pine cones, etc.  When we are done, your turf will be clean and ready for the growing season.  

At the end of each summer, it is critical to prep your lawn for winter.  Leaving the grass too long or leaving debris on it can cause your lawn to die due to lack of air.  As the snow pack pushes down on the debris sitting on top of the turf, it in effect suffocates the turf. 


With each fall clean up, we will remove all leaves, sticks, and debris from the turf, as well as clean out any flower beds.  Additionally we cut the grass to an appropriate height for winter. We will leave your property looking clean as a whistle.  We offer both disposal of leaves on your property or a haul away option, taking all leaves and debris with us.    

           AERATION:

By far the most beneficial and undervalued turf process is aeration!​​ Aeration is the process of allowing air and nutrients to get to the roots, as well as de-compacting the soil.  This allows turf to grow thicker and stronger, being more resilient to natural stresses such as foot traffic and drought.
